Integrated Professional Solutions is an ICT integrator. The company offers professional, end-to-end information and communications technology solutions and multimedia systems, as well as multi-purpose hardware systems for businesses from various renowned vendors.
The translation of product specifications (phone handsets), presentations and brochures (telephone exchange systems for small and medium enterprises).
IPS asked us to prepare a quote for the translation of 8 PDF files from English into Polish. This was our first contact with this customer.
In order to prepare the quote, the PDF files were converted to an editable format. The quote was prepared using our billing models, i.e. based on the word count of the source documents. The customer wanted to compare our offer with the services of other agencies, therefore we were requested to prepare a new quote based on the number of pages. Unfortunately, our offer was rejected, but the customer promised us to contact in the future. We hoped for further cooperation between our companies in the future.
After 20 days, the customer sent us the following message:
“We were forced to terminate our cooperation with the agency initially chosen for this engagement.”
We were requested to prepare a sample translation before being given the final assignment. Preparing a sample translation is always an important step for us, because we can demonstrate not only the quality of our translations, but also the quality of our customer service. The feedback was very optimistic:
“Your translation is significantly better.”
That was a nice opinion to receive! We were pleased to be awarded the contract to translate all the source content, ca. 19,000 words.
Since then, we have translated other documents sent by this customer, which confirms the company’s satisfaction with our services. We are glad that we were able to help this company and meet their requirements. We have also seen once again that just because a company chooses another contractor following the initial contact, it does not necessarily mean that there will be no cooperation in the future since the promises made by a supplier are not always kept, and the quality they provide is not always what the client expected. Submitting a sample translation is the best solution in these cases, because it allows the customer to verify if the offered level of services meets its expectations and needs.
